Albuquerque-based Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Co. has another state in the basket.
Rainbow Ryders announced Tuesday it has launched an office in Las Vegas, Nevada, at 5075 Cameron St. This makes four locations for the hot air balloon ride company, which is also in Phoenix and Colorado Springs, Colorado, in addition to Albuquerque.
The company has been busy in recent months. In November, it acquired Private Balloon Flights and also in 2017 the company was one of seven New Mexico-based businesses to make it into the Inc. 5000 list, which ranks the fastest-growing companies in the country. Rainbow Ryders had more than $4 million in revenue at the time.
And you may recognize the flight company from Albuquerque Business First’s Fastest Growing Companies List, having evolved from a homegrown company operating out of a garage to flying over 300,000 passengers. At No 20, it saw 38.31 percent revenue growth from 2014 through 2016.

“With Las Vegas being a major tourist destination, Rainbow Ryders is a perfect fit to give visitors a unique experience in the Las Vegas area,” wrote Scott Appelman, president and founder of Rainbow Ryders, in a statement. “When we first started over 35 years ago, it was a one-man operation out of my garage. I’m humbled by the success we’ve experienced at our first three locations, allowing us to grow and expand. Las Vegas is a great city known for getaways filled with excitement and adventure, and we’re proud to be a part of the unique offerings for visitors and locals alike.”
